FAQs
What is Event Cancellation Insurance?
Cancellation insurance covers your unavoidable financial loss that arises when circumstances beyond your control mean you have no choice but to cancel your event.
What is liability insurance?
Public Liability Insurance covers costs should a member of the public get injured, die,
or have their personal belongings damaged and/or stolen. These costs could include legal fees, or compensation awarded to the injured individual by the courts.
Employers’ Liability Insurance covers costs should a member of your staff get injured, die, or have their personal belongings damaged.
What types of events does Vento work with?
Vento offers insurance for pretty much any event out there–274 “types” total. You can find the full dropdown of events covered in the dropdown menu within the quote form. If the event type is not listed, you can contact Vento directly so they can put together a personalised quote.
How far in advance do I need to buy event insurance?
Vento recommends buying insurance as far in advance as possible, and before the point at which you start spending money for your event. For larger events, this could be up to one year in advance, and for smaller events, three months may be appropriate. Vento does not recommend purchasing insurance within 3 weeks of an event taking place, and they do not insure events starting within 14 days.
I’m running a first time event, will I be able to purchase insurance?
Yes, but first time events with no record of profit will only be able to cover Costs & Expenses
My venue already has insurance, do I need my own?
Your venue’s liability insurance will cover injuries or loss as a result of their actions only. It does not cover such instances as a result of your acts or omissions. For this reason, most venues will require hirers to have their own insurance.
Is it possible to bundle Vento products?
Yes, it is possible to purchase multiple products, though a bundle discount only applies to Event Cancellation Insurance and Lost Cash.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Yes, you have a 14 day cooling off period when you are able to cancel for a full refund, assuming no claims have been made.
