Conveenie Impact Report: Strengthening Communities Through Accessible Spaces

At Conveenie, we believe that strong communities are built when people are able to come together easily, affordably and inclusively. Access to local space should never be a barrier to connection, learning or collective wellbeing.

Our first Impact Report reflects how Conveenie is turning that belief into practical action enabling community life, supporting local venues and creating meaningful social value across the neighbourhoods we serve. You can read the full report here.

A Platform Built for Community

Conveenie is an online marketplace dedicated to local spaces. We support:

  • Community groups, charities and clubs seeking affordable, accessible venues
  • Local hosts looking for better visibility, simpler administration and consistent bookings

By managing listings, calendars, payments and communication in one place, we remove the administrative friction that often prevents smaller organisations from securing space at all. Accessibility and inclusion are embedded into the platform, with booking filters that help organisers identify venues suited to specific needs, including step-free access.

We also provide dedicated charity and non-profit rates, cross-checked through the UK Charity Register, ensuring reduced costs reach the organisations that need them most. You can find more details in our impact report.

Impact at a Glance

Conveenie’s value is best seen through the activity it enables:

  • 320+ hours of completed bookings delivered through the platform
  • 66% of venues listed within an affordable pricing category
  • 92 bookings made in affordable venues, representing the majority of successful transactions
  • 257.5 hours of community access delivered through affordable spaces
  • 13 charity-rate bookings at an average 30% discount, providing 35 hours of subsidised venue access
  • Over £100K in total completed booking value, supporting the financial sustainability of local venues

Affordability is not an add-on it is a core feature of how the platform is used and who it serves.

Enabling Connection and Wellbeing

Conveenie supports face-to-face connection by making it easier for people to gather locally. The platform has facilitated 16 different types of activity, reflecting the many ways communities come together:

  • Community meetings
  • Support groups
  • Training workshops
  • Performing arts
  • Fitness sessions
  • Religious events
  • Choirs
  • Sports
  • Rehearsals
  • Book launches
  • Film shoots
  • Celebrations
  • Weddings
  • Children’s events

and more….

This diversity highlights Conveenie’s role in supporting both everyday community use and milestone life moments. As outlined in our impact report, we aim to continue fostering these connections.

Addressing Loneliness and Social Isolation

Loneliness remains a significant public health challenge. During Loneliness Awareness Week, Conveenie used its platform and channels to raise awareness and encourage conversation around social isolation.

Research highlighted that 700,000 Londoners feel lonely most or all of the time, with a disproportionate impact on young people, low-income households, LGBTQ+ communities, single parents, Deaf and Disabled people, and ethnic minority groups.

By enabling welcoming, affordable local spaces, Conveenie helps people meet regularly, build relationships and develop informal support networks that strengthen mental wellbeing. For more insights, visit our impact report.

Community in Action

Conveenie’s role extends beyond bookings.

  • Supported Carols Around Camberwell, raising £1,340 for Thames Reach to help people experiencing homelessness
  • Contributed to local leadership through board participation in the SE5 Forum
  • Supported the launch of the Camberwell community app connecting residents with local venues and services.
  • Participated in an Innovate UK project exploring inclusive cultural spaces
  • Built partnerships transforming local venues into creative community destinations

These initiatives demonstrate how digital infrastructure can translate into real-world social value.

Fair Work and Skills Development

Conveenie is equally committed to creating accessible early-career opportunities.

Through partnerships with Coventry University London and the University of Oxford, we have delivered:

  • Multiple internships offered through university partnerships
  • 2,600+ hours of student engagement
  • 2,220 hours via Coventry University placements
  • 400 hours through Oxford micro-internships

These placements are practical, time-bound and skills-focused giving students meaningful exposure to live projects rather than observational roles.

Recognition and Partnerships

We are proud to have received external recognition for our contribution to community access and social value:

  • Sponsor - Club Hub Charity / Non-Profit Awards 2025
  • Recognised Placement - Small Business Awards, Best Community Contribution

Conveenie also works with Better Bankside to develop realistic sustainability pathways for local venues, supporting neighbourhood ambitions towards net zero.

Looking Ahead

At Conveenie, we are committed to strengthening our impact and aligning our efforts with global frameworks that drive sustainability. We have adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a practical framework for our initiatives. By focusing on goals like Reduced Inequalities, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Sustainable Cities and Communities, we aim to foster meaningful, long-term change in the communities we serve.

  • Our focus is on building on what works while strengthening areas where we can do more:
  • Expanding partnerships with community organisations and councils
  • Increasing neighbourhood-based bookings
  • Growing wellbeing campaigns and social connection initiatives
  • Creating more internships and early-career pathways
  • Reducing booking friction through platform improvements
  • Expanding accessible venues and inclusive features
  • Promoting women-led organisations and hosts
  • Strengthening sustainability filters and environmental transparency

By integrating the SDGs into our strategy, we ensure that every step we take is not just aligned with community needs but also contributes to global goals. We remain committed to making community space easier to find, simpler to book and more inclusive to use.

Building Stronger Communities, Together

Community thrives when access is simple, affordable and inclusive. Conveenie exists to remove the structural, financial and practical barriers that prevent local activity from happening.

By connecting people with the spaces they need, we help communities meet, learn, create and support one another - more often and with greater impact.

What does community mean to you?

If you’d like to collaborate, we’d love to hear from you.
